India sees good times and bad times at Championships

Steve Davis to Help Launch Whalley Club
The Whalley Village Hall in Ribble Valley is staring a new initiative to help young people in the area. The Hall is offering young people ages eleven to eighteen the opportunity to play snooker for free every Friday night until Christmas. Snooker pro Steve Davis is helping the snooker club launch this new initiative. (17/11)
World Snooker Championship to Begin This Week
Two hundred international snooker players from almost eighty countries will be trying their best to win top honors at the World Snooker Championship as it begins this week. Included in the two hundred players are Indian cueists Pankaj Advani and Geet Sethi. (13/11)
Alex Borg wins second ranking tournament of the season
Alex Borg is a Malta Snooker champion and he recently won the second ranking tournament of the season. The event was organized by the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association and the event was held at the Pinto Band Club in Qormi. Borg was able to beat Simon Zammit 6-2 in the final. (10/11)
National Snooker Team Sponsored by Youth Ministry
The national snooker team of Islamabad is going to be sponsored by the Ministry of Youth Affairs. The organization decided to sponsor the national snooker team after the Ministry of Sports said they would not be sponsoring the team. (05/11)
Seventeen Year Old Boy Wins Snooker Classic
This past Sunday the Prataps Investment Snooker Classic took place at the Sigatoka Club. The event saw twenty four competitors vying for the top prize but it would be a seventeen year old who would come up with the win. (03/11)
Snooker Player Enjoying his Success
This past Sunday, Neil Robertson beat Ding Junhui 9-4 to claim his second Grand Prix crown. Robertson has come a long since he first arrived in the UK just six years ago. Robertson barely had money in his pocket when he arrived but now he has earned the biggest pay day of his career as well as the title of the most successful player from outside the British Isles. Jimmy White Arrested on Suspicion Charges
Star snooker player Jimmy White has been arrested on suspicion charges. White has been supposedly been accused of trying to get his friend to take the heat for his speeding. White tried to get his friend to take the penalty points that he received for speeding. (27/10)
Alex Borg Wins Malta Billiards Event
Alex Borg of the Juventutis Domus club won his first snooker ranking tournament of the season recently when he participated in a Malta Billiards & Snooker Association event. The tournament took place this past Friday at the 147 Snooker Hall. Borg was able to beat Simon Zammit 6-4 in the final. (20/10)
Grand Prix Snooker Title Goes to Neil Robertson
Neil Robertson of Australia is the new Grand Prix champion after he defeated Ding Junhui in the final yesterday in Glasgow. Robertson was able to beat Junhui 9-4 at Kelvin Hall to earn his second Grand Prix crown. (16/10)
Potters Leisure Resort Hosting Party Casino Snooker Finals
Party Casino’s Premier League Snooker Finals are about to begin and this year Potters Leisure Resort in Hopton will be hosting the event. This is the second consecutive year that the resort has hosted the finals. Many of the best snooker players in the world will be on hand to compete. (13/10)
O’Sullivan Loses in British Snooker Grand Prix
Top snooker pros Ronnie O’Sullivan and John Higgins had to face each other in the British Snooker Grand Prix and Higgins was able to outlast the number one ranked player in the world to win the match. Higgins is the defending Grand Prix champion and won the match-up 5-4 in Glasgow. (08/10)
November Brings World Snooker Championship to Hyderabad
Snooker fans will be glad to hear that the World Snooker Championship is set to begin soon in Hyderabad and around two hundred cueists are set to be competing for top honors at the event.
