There are two events coming up for snooker players to enjoy and the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association have already received 13 countries entries for the events. The Jubilee Insurance Asian 3rd 6-Red and 2nd Team Championship both will be taking place in August and the PBSA is expecting as many as 16 countries to participate in the team events.

The 13 countries have sent in the proper documentation to compete and three more countries have stated verbally that they will be competing as well. The three remaining countries have to process their paperwork before the entry will be official.

The following countries are ready to compete in the event:

• Afghanistan
• UAE
• Syria
• India
• Qatar
• Thailand
• Palestine
• Bahrain
• Jordan
• Kuwait
• Malaysia
• Saudi Arabia
• Iran
• Hong Kong

Bahrain, Singapore and Kuwait are the countries that have verbally agreed to take part in the competition. The documentation is on the way and once received, should be approved for the teams to compete. Pakistan will be hosting the event and will be represented by Mohammad Asif, the defending champion of the 6-Red event.
The remaining members of this team are Mohammad Sajjad, Mohammad Asif Toba, Hamza Akbar, Sohail Shehzad, Shahid Aftab, Abdul Sattar and Asjad Iqbal.

India must receive clearance before they can compete but should receive it soon.
The PBSA is now looking to approve the two standby teams but are confident that the Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports will grant permission for the competition.

The events are quite popular in the snooker industry and will be interesting to see how the players are able to face off against each other. Each country is represented by the best of the best in the sport and the competition will be fierce among every competitor.
