Twenty one year old snooker star, Jordan Brown, arrived in Austria this past weekend to compete for the world amateur championship. Brown is the Northern Ireland senior champion and holds the title of the all-Ireland under 21. (28/10)

Ryan Day played his hardest but even the strongest comeback could not hold off John Higgins who took home the win at the Royal London Watches Grand Prix in Glasgow this past weekend. The event took place starting on the 11th of October and came to conclusion on the 19th. Higgins won his first ranking event in a long eighteen months. (22/10)

Ryan Day Knocks Ricky Walden Down a Notch

Ricky Walden, the new Roewe Shanghai Masters champion, was bumped in the Royal London Watches Grand Prix by Pontycymer potter Ryan Day. The event was held at the Scottish Exhibition and Conference Center in Glasgow, Scotland. (17/10)

Moh Keen Ho Quits National Snooker Team Training Camp

Moh Keen Ho is a young teenager that the Malaysian Snooker and Billiards Federation wanted to turn into a world beater. Keen Ho is a Sea Games gold medalist and showed great promise. Keen Ho has now quit the National Snooker Team training camp and will no longer be under the care of the National Sports Council. (14/10)

World Championship of Snooker Could Move to China

The World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association have a contract with the Sheffield City Council that will see the Snooker World Championships in Sheffield until 2010. Sheffield has been the home of the Snooker World Championships for the past thirty one years. Once the contract is up the Championships may be moved to China. (08/10)

Snooker Academy Begins at Padiham Snooker Center

Last weekend the Paul Hunter Foundation Snooker Academy began teaching young players the game of snooker. The academy is taking place at Paul Rinaldi’s Padiham Snooker Center. Twenty seven young kids were on hand to participate in the first part of a ten week process. (02/10)
