2009 European Snooker Championships Beginning in Early JuneThe 2009 European Snooker Championships will begin on June 4th and will continue until the 13th. The Championships will take place in Duffel, Belgium with a record number of players competing. One hundred and forty one players from thirty one countries will be competing in this yearís event.
Five players competing in the championship will be representing the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association. Those players include: Alex Borg, Tony Drago and Clayton Castaldi in the Mens category while Arthur Cachia and Tony Mifsud will play in the Masters event.
The menís category will have seventy two participants while the Masters category will have forty five players competing. The Womenís event of the Championships will have twenty four players.
Joe Caruana Curran the MBSA President will be in Malta on June 11th to try and make a bid to organize the 2010 European Team Snooker Championships. Curran is also expected to be appointed as the Vice Chairman of the EBSA for the next two years.
