Welsh Open Champion of Snooker is Ali CarterThis past Sunday Ali Carter defeated Joe Swail 9-5 during the finals of the Welsh Open. With the win, Carter became the new Welsh Open Champion. This is the first ranking title for Carter who has been a snooker player for some time now. (24/02)
Alex Higgins Dropped From Charity Event
Alex HIggins was supposed to attend a charity event in Limerick in March but has been dropped from the schedule. This comes after recent reports of Higgins threatening and verbally abusing spectators and a referee at separate events. (20/02)
Young Snooker Stars Needs Money to Attend European Championships
Eighteen year old Robert Carlisle and sixteen year old Michael Leslie are two young snooker players who have a bright future ahead of them. Both have qualified to play in the European Championships in St Petersburg, Russia yet both do not have the money to attend the event. (17/02)
Shaun Murphy Moves to New Training Club
Shaun Murphy is the current United Kingdom Snooker Champion and he recently moved to a new training club. The club is located in Sale, called the Sale Conservative Club. When Murphy moved to the new club he brought along a little something special. (10/02)
27th Northwest Snooker Title Won by Suresh Chauhan
This past weekend Suresh Chauhan won his twenty seventh Northwest Snooker title. The event took place at the Lautoka Club on Sunday and Chauhan was in true form. New to the tournament Snooker scene, Sireli Kaci also had a good day and proved his skills at the game of snooker. (03/02)
