Alex Borg is a Malta Snooker champion and he recently won the second ranking tournament of the season. The event was organized by the Malta Billiards and Snooker Association and the event was held at the Pinto Band Club in Qormi. Borg was able to beat Simon Zammit 6-2 in the final.

Both Zammit and Borg met in the final of the first ranking event and Borg was successful in that match as well, winning 6-4. In this match Zammit won the first frame 55-42. Borg had a break of 75 in the second but Zammit took the lead of the match up 2-1 as he won the third match 69-32.

Borg then gained the lead after winning two matches and jumped ahead 3-2. This would lead to the mid-session interval. When play began again Borg would earn breaks of 80 and a total clearance of 136 to win the next three frames and the finals match 6-2.
