The Cargo Star Open Snooker Title took place just a few days ago at the Dar es Salaam Gymghana Club Gallery and it was Arjun Lavingia who was able to take down the tournament with large scores in his matches.

Arjun began the tournament with several big wins including a 50-14 on the first frame then 40-28, 47-27 and 50-17. Arjun even eliminated his father Ashok by 3-0 sets during the five frame semi-final to move on to face Raju Kanabar in the finals.

Arjun beat Kanabar in four straight sets in a seven frame game final. Arjun really proved his snooker skills by winning his matches with big numbers as well as knocking out top competitors in straight wins.

Kanabar commented on Arjun stating: “Arjun was outstanding in the game and he deserved to win it. I could not match his brilliance. He played a tactical game.”

Aijun’s father commented that he is going to retire so his son can shine in the sport.
