First Snooker Competition to be held by Puttinu Cares Foundation
The Anglo Maltese League in Valletta will be holding the first ever snooker competition hosted by the Puttinu Cares Foundation. The event will see one table set aside for the competition and another table set up for a sixty hour marathon game of snooker. The event is sponsored by St James Hospital and an opening ceremony will be held on September 25th at 9am and the closing ceremony will take place on September 27th at 9pm. players who compete are expected to donate 20 euro and each marathon player is expected to donate what they can. All funds will go directly to the Puttinu Cares Foundation.
The Foundation provides financial relief to family whose children are being treated in the United Kingdom. It was founded many years ago to help families whose children may have cancer to alleviate them of the financial burden.
Dr Josie Muscat of the St James Hospital commented that it is a pleasure for the hospital to be a part of the charity event which helps the children and their families. He also commented that this is the hospitals aim, to provide care and ensure patient satisfaction.
