In the first round of the UK Snooker Championship Steve Davis was defeated by Stephen Hendry. Hendry has had a tough time as of late and found the match up tough, but he was still able to come up with a win.

The matchup between the two pros was highly anticipated in the snooker world with fans waiting for the two to compete. The match was very exciting as Hendry was able to eventually get passed Davis winning the match 9 frames to 6. It was in the final frame that Hendry was able to score a century.

Hendry stated after the match that even though he won against Davis, he has been having a hard time with the game, calling it pure torture. He has been finding the game very frustrating as of late. Hendry also stated that he had just won the game and there was no satisfaction in that fact as in the past.

Davis commented on Hendry’s comments stating that Hendry should continue to devote himself to the game and give it his entire commitment. He then congratulated Hendry on maintaining his top sixteen ranking and that he is too young to consider quitting the game.

Hendry will now face Mark Selby and Selby is the favorite to win the match. However Ronnie O’Sullivan is still the favorite to win it all. We will just have to wait and see what happens.
