John Higgins to Face Mark Joyce in Grand Prix tournament
The Grand Prix title will be up for grabs beginning on October 3rd and John Higgins will be defending his Grand Prix snooker title against Mark Joyce. Higgins faced Ryan Day 9-7 in last year’s final to take the title and is hoping to win yet again this year. The snooker tournament will take place in Glasgow at Kelvin Hall and fans will be able to see the best of the best competing. Ronnie O’Sullivan, who is sitting at #1, will face Jamie Burnett of Glasgow and Matthew Selt will face Stephen Hendry.
Steve Davis and Graeme Dott failed to make the last qualifying round for the competition in October. Steve was defeated by Mark Davis who had runs of 106, 74, 54 and 61 while Dott was defeated by Jamie Burnett 5-0.
The snooker tournament will definitely be interesting as several of the top players were unable to move forward and many up and coming players are now in contention for the title. Will Higgins be able to maintain his title or will one of the rising stars take it? We will just have to wait and see as the tournament unfolds!
