Man Attacked With Snooker Cue
This past Monday night an eighteen year old man was attacked outside a snooker club in Paignton town center. The man was attacked by two teenagers outside of the establishment and if it were not for two passerbies, the man might be in worse condition. Two good Samaritans stopped to help the man from his attackers. The eighteen year old, who remains anonymous, was involved in a scuffle with two other young men and they began shoving each other. Eventually one of the attackers came after the young man with a snooker cue.
The two Samaritans drove up to the intersection where the fight was taking place and hopped out to help. Investigators would like to talk to the duo as they are still anonymous. The only information known of the helpers is that they were possibly driving a silver car.
All three young men were covered in blood after the attack but the eighteen year old had suffered a head injury most likely from the snooker cue. He had to have several stitches at the Torbay Hospital. Detective Con Tracey Goodwin of Paignton CIT is investigating the case: “The two assailants could have carried on for much longer if it had not been for the men in the car. The injuries could have been much more severe.”
The snooker cue has been confiscated by police to undergo forensic analysis. The fifteen and other eighteen year old were arrested in suspicion of affray. Another man was also questioned. The two have been released on bail until further questioning.
It is amazing that the two good Samaritans showed up just in time to help the young man from his attackers. Hopefully everyone will act as they did and stop and help someone in need.
