Mark Selby advances to 2012 Masters Quarter Finals
Snooker pro Mark Selby has advanced to the 2012 Masters Quarter Finals after defeating Stephen Lee in the first round of the competition. The World Number One player defeated Lee with a score of 6-4 at Alexandra Palace located in Stock.

Selby dominated the competition at first, getting the lead at 4-0 then Lee came back but was not able to come out on top in the end. Selby was on fire taking down the first four frames with breaks of 66, 57 and 110.

Lee began to feel the pressure as he was down 4-0 but he came back in the fifth frame to earn clearances of 100, 78 and 94 and then came back 5-4. However the tenth frame would be the final and Selby would be the victor.

Selby looks to be in good form to claim the title this year. He won the event in 2010 and could claim his third Masters title if he keeps up this pace. Selby will now face Shaun Murphy the former World Snooker Champion in the quarter finals.

If Selby wins this match he will face either Graeme Dott or John Higgins in the semi finals. Selby will face Murphy in the quarter finals in Stock on January 20th. It will be interesting to see if the snooker pro will be able to keep up his current pace and defeat his opponent or if he will be knocked out of the competition.
