Mohammad Sajjad Beats John Higgins in Snooker Opener
The 6-Red World Grand Prix Snooker Championship began this past week in Bangkok and Pakistan’s Mohammad Sajjad and John Higgins opened the championship with the first match up. Sajjad prevailed and beat Higgins to move on in the tournament.Sajjad won the first three frames of the match because of a late arrival of Higgins for the match. Sajjad finished the matchup by winning the next two against Higgins, a seasoned snooker player. So because of the tardiness of Higgins, Sajjad won the match 5-0, a perfect shutout.
Sajjad then went on to face Nappadon Noppachorn of Thailand. The matchup was tough and the score was tied at 4-4 and Sajjad was able to win the next frame to take the match 5-4. Raees Khan, from also from Pakistan, faced Peter Ebdon in his opening match up and he lost 0-5.
