NJI 34th National Snooker Championship Announces New Details
The NJI 34th National Snooker Championship is set to take place on March 16th through the 21st at Karachi Gymkhana. NJI is sponsoring the event and more details have been announced that will most likely result in more players competing for the top prize. The first place winner was supposed to earn Rs 40,000 in a cash reward but members of the Karachi Gymkhana have changed that amount. Mohammad Ali Aziz and Javed Mir recently announced that they will add an additional Rs 50,000 to the prize which will raise it to Rs 90,000.
The runner up in the event will win Rs 30,000, the losing semifinalists will take home Rs 10,000 while losing quarterfinalists will win Rs5,000. So even if you do not make it to the finals you will still win a nice reward. An added bonus during the tournament will see the player who has the highest break win Rs 5,000.
During the Championship event the thirty two players competing will be divided equally into eight groups. By the end of the matches the top two cueists from each group will enter the knockout stage. Last year’s winner, Mohammad Sajjad will be returning to try and maintain his title.
