O’Sullivan Loses in British Snooker Grand Prix
Top snooker pros Ronnie O’Sullivan and John Higgins had to face each other in the British Snooker Grand Prix and Higgins was able to outlast the number one ranked player in the world to win the match. Higgins is the defending Grand Prix champion and won the match-up 5-4 in Glasgow. O’Sullivan was in the lead early on and held the match at 4-3 when he lost the opportunity to claim the match in the eighth frame. Higgins then took over and took the frame and then produced a break of 94 to claim his seat in the quarter finals.
Higgins commented: “I thought I was all over the place and felt really on edge.”Higgins also commented that he thought if Ronnie upped it a bit then he would be beaten by the number one ranked snooker player in the world.
Higgins also commented that he missed a few but that has become the norm when he plays against O’Sullivan. Higgins stated that people come to expect a high-quality match when they both are competing but sometimes players cannot produce.
