Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association Receive Federal Grant
It was announced today that the Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association has gained grant approval from the federal government. This grant will allow the PSBA to organize the National Snooker Championship that will take place in February.The president of the PBSA, Alamgir Anwar Shaikh spoke to “The News” and commented that the Federal Minister of Sports has issued the release of a grant for the National Championships. This grant will give financial assistance to the PBSA to run the Championships.
Shaikh commented: “Today was our follow-up meeting with the Federal Minister at his chamber in the capital. During our meeting in Karachi last week he had agreed to provide us financial assistance of Rs 2.5 million that was exactly half of the amount we needed to run the body during the calendar year.”
The PBSA has been working very hard to provide the country with cue sports and in the process they brought home medals to the country during the Asian Games. The government and the PBSA will be working together in the coming months to provide citizens with many options in the sport.
