PBSA Announces National Snooker Championship Dates
The Pakistan Billiards and Snooker Association (PBSA) recently announced the dates for the 34th National Snooker Championship. The event will be held in mid-March. The decision was made after officials met with the Federal Sports Minister Pir Aftab Shah Jilani. The PBSA Chief Alamigir Anwar Shaikh told reporters that they will have to complete the Punjab Cup to pick-up the qualifiers for the Nationals. The Punjab Cup will take place in Lahore on February 1st and continue until the 12th. The Junior Cup will be next on the 13th through the 15th of the month.
Shaikh stated that after the National Seniors and Juniors completed the qualifiers the PBSA would hold the National Junior Snooker at the end of February. The National Seniors would take place in the middle of March.
Dates are being scheduled and will be finalized during a meeting of the PBSA Managing Committee. Winners of the National Junior Snooker competition will represent Pakistan in the Asian and World Junior competitions.
