Rileys Snooker Clubs Cut Jobs and Close Clubs
Trade downturns and substantial debts have forced Rileys Snooker clubs to let go of two hundred people and shut down thirty snooker sites. Despite this big loss, Rileys has confirmed that the rest of their staff and the other one hundred and twenty nine clubs are secure. The remaining jobs and clubs have been purchased by Valiant Sports. The remaining clubs will still operate under the Rileys name despite the new owners. Ernst & Young, accountants for Rileys, commented that the rent bill played a huge factor in the timing of them moving into administration.
The clubs that are now closed are: Luton, Northampton, Nuneaton, Oxford, Penicuik, Peterborough, Rainham, Rotherham, Rotherham Docaster Gate, Rugeley, St Albans, Scarborough, Stanford-Le-Hope, Stretford, Stoke, Sutton Coldfield, Wakefield, Weston-super-Mare, Long Eaton, Luton, Lancaster, Hounslow, Hartlepool, Glasgow, Dundee, Debden, Clapham, Burnley, Bracknell and Blackburn.
