Mark Selby has seen great success as of late including a nice showing at the Pukka Pies UK Championship. But now, he has been beaten by Ronnie O’Sullivan who beat Selby 9-3 in the quarter finals at the Telford International Arena.

Selby was in top form during the competition as he worked his way past Jamie Cope and Stephen Hendry to make it to the match against O’Sullivan. But Selby would find that O’Sullivan was in top form as well and he would only be able to get three frames during the match. O’Sullivan would take nine and move on to the semi finals to face John Higgins.

O’Sullivan commented on the score of the match against Selby by stating: “The score line flattered me, Mark had his chances but he didn’t take them. It’s a win I suppose, but it’s hard to be happy or filled with any joy. I could have been more clinical.”
