Ross Higgins Earns Scottish Snooker Champion TitleThe Scottish Snooker Championship recently took place at the Craigpark Masters Snooker Club on May 30th. Several players showed up to compete but it was Ross Higgins who took the title at the young age of seventeen.
Ross was unstoppable during the tournament as he beat Rhys Clark five to zero. Ross had a few large breaks during the tournament including a 140 during practice and a 120 during the tournament. Ross is well on his way to a snooker career especially since he just graduated high school.
Ross commented on the championships by stating: "I was kind of nervous at the start but I knew if I could get off to a good start in the final I would do well. After the first couple of frames I just kept going.”
Ross will now represent Scotland in Letterkenny in late July/early August at the 2010 IBSF U21 World Championships. If Ross is able to win the tournament he will be able to earn a spot on the senior touring circuit.
