Snooker Ace Banned From Driving for Six Months
Professional Snooker player Stephen Maguire was banned from driving just a short time ago after he showed reckless behavior on the roadway. Maguire was caught speeding in February and has not lost his privilege to drive for six months. Maguire admitted to driving his vehicle at 94 mph in February while traveling on the M74 in Dumfriesshire. The snooker star was fined £250 and given six penalty points at the Dumfries District Court. The ban from driving was enforced by the Trotting up rules.
This is not the first time Maguire has been under scrutiny by the law. Back in April, officers were investigating a UK Championships match between Jamie Burnett and Maguire which took place last year. The match was believed to be fixed as bookies reported large betting amounts placed on the games score line. Both claimed nothing inappropriate went on.
Maguire is very talented in the game of snooker and it would be a shame to see bad decisions cost him his career in the sport or something even more valuable, his life.
