Snooker Pro Back in Action after Competing in Reality ShowSteve Davis is a well-known snooker pro who has earned his share of top titles and accolades in the sport. The pro recently spent time in the Australian jungle taking part in the reality show Iím a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here. Davis is now back in action and hopes to maintain his tour card for the current season.
Davis missed out on the UK Championship to be a part of the reality show and missed the UK finals. The top 64 players in the competition will earn a spot on the tour next season. After the York event, Davis moved to the 61st spot and is right at the cutoff for the players to earn their spots on the tour.
After the show, Davis headed back to Barnsley to be able to compete in the qualifying rounds in the German Masters as well as the Haikou World Open. Davis was able to defeat Dylan Mitchell 5-0 to make the final round of the German Open and this will take place from the 29th of January to the 2nd of February.
Davis then defeated Hammad Miah 5-2 to make the top 64 of the World Open. This event will take place from the 10th of March to the 16th. Davis believes he did well in the competition because he was able to have less pressure on himself as well as not worrying about practice. By having little time to think about the game of snooker, Davis believes that he was able to be ready for the competition instead of worrying over the matches.
If for some reason Davis does not make the top 64 of the World Snooker, he can still earn a spot by competing in the Q School or he can take a shot at the Players Tour Championship Order of Merit.
