Stephen Harrison Plans to Expand Academy
Stephen Harrison is a snooker pro who uses the sport to help those who are disadvantaged. Harrison operates the Stephen Harrison Academy which helps people with mental, physical and learning problems. Harrison recently announced that he plans to expand the Academy to help even more people. The Academy has launched the Learning and Exercise Through Snooker and the UK Snooker Awards to help teach people and mentor them to get real jobs. In the future Harrison wants to expand further and offer the service nationwide.
The Academy also helps children who suffer from obesity, autism, offenders and people who are not educated. People who attend the Academy can learn through literacy, vocational workshops, team building exercises, healthy eating, life skill learning and of course snooker.
The Academy has also started running father and sons tournaments on the weekends to help dads spend more time with their sons. Harrison commented that the long term goal of the Academy is to open new ones throughout the United Kingdom.
