Two hundred international snooker players from almost eighty countries will be trying their best to win top honors at the World Snooker Championship as it begins this week. Included in the two hundred players are Indian cueists Pankaj Advani and Geet Sethi.

Rupesh Shah, Yasin Merchant and Manan Chandra are among to the top ranked Indian players to attend the event and compete. The World Snooker Championship will continue until it concludes on November 25th.

The World Snooker Championship will take place at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. Capt P V K Mohan the tournament director commented: “in addition to the live coverage on television, the tournament would also be webcast.”

The chief guest of the event will be Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah and the Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni will be the guest of honor. The President of International Billiards and Snooker Federation, Pascal Guillaume will also be on hand at the event.
