World Snooker Championship Video Game Released For Nintendo DS
By: TJ GillNintendo DS recently released its newest sports games for its popular handheld gaming unit, World Snooker Championship Season 2007-08.
Similar to video pool, playing snooker on the DS is actually quite realistic and very simple. The game’s developer, Blade Interactive, utilize their technology wisely with this release, making it a fun game for gamers to play. While it’s not certain a game like this will exactly take off like a Super Mario franchise is not clear, especially given the difficulty level of real-life snooker.
The Nintendo DS uses a stylus (similar to a pen that you use on the console’s touch screen to help determine what action you want to take in a particular game) that mimics a snooker cue very nicely. The amazing 3D graphics and bright colors make lining up for a potential shot make the game a lot more interactive than most other snooker or pool games that have come out in the past.
The game is complete with different practice, challenge, and tournament modes to keep up your skills. And people can take their own shots at becoming the next Jimmy White in this game, and really up their potting skills in the process.
It might be easier to master if the game was released on a more mainstream console like the Nintendo Gamecube, because the lack of a bigger screen can make it difficult to perfect your shot lines. For the most part though, it’s a decent game that will challenge even the most experienced of snooker players.
