Young Snooker Stars Needs Money to Attend European Championships
Eighteen year old Robert Carlisle and sixteen year old Michael Leslie are two young snooker players who have a bright future ahead of them. Both have qualified to play in the European Championships in St Petersburg, Russia yet both do not have the money to attend the event.

There will be sixty four players competing in the Championship that begins on March 21st and continues until March 26th. Both boys need£ 800 to attend the event. Both boys are from Scotland and many in the area are trying to help them raise money.

Bert Demarco a legend in snooker is creating an exhibition night and all money raised would go to the two boys. Demarco has stated that the lack of funding for young players to attend events is “a disgrace”. There is no direct funding provided by the ruling Scottish Snooker Ltd.

To help the young men, snooker officials are trying to find sponsors to help fund the trip. It can be financially draining for young men to try and begin a career in the sport of snooker and both boys’ families are finding that to be very true. Hopefully enough people will support their dream and help them raise the funds needed to attend the Championship.
